Proposal for 3rd Research Group Project

For our research group project for Nathan, Jen, Leigh, and I, we are going make a fake Facebook page. Then we are going to add people and see what information we can get off their profile so show that Facebook isn't even completely private, especially if you add people that you don't know.

Proposal for 3rd Local History

For this local history project I am going to take old newspaper clippings that I found in a house that my dad is renovating. Then I am going to upload pictures of them and make a sideshow out of them.

Malcolm X / King Essay

Hello my fellow students. You know what I think? If we are looking the most attractive way to achieve equality, then we obviously have to agree with what King has to say. Malcolm X is obviously going to be more effective right off the bat. He thinks lets do to them like they have done to us. This would probably be the quiestest result. But then you need to think about it the way King does. If we sink that low, it will just show that we can be just as violent! There are other ways to get our point acrss. As King says, people just need to help! Get up and vote, don't worry so much about your jobs but more about your rights! I know this is out of the comfort zone for many people but nobody said it was going to be easy but King knows how to do it. Once they see that we won't stand for this anymore, eventually I think change will stop to come. And King knows all the right ways to get us there, we just need to help because he can't do it alone. Thanks for listening!

Emmitt Till

Emmitt Till was killed by a group of men because of something he said. This would be individual violence that he lived through and eventually died from. Being black back during those times, it would just take saying the wrong thing to cost you your life. What is institutional violence in this is that the government.state never did anything about it to punish the people that had done this to him. They allowed violence like this to happen to so many black people. If people of high power like that won't put an end to it, then it will keep happening and it did for awhile. This was saying that Emmitt Till's murder was allowed in their eyes.
The reason that Emmitt Till's mother insisted it be open coffin was so everyone could see what had happened. If something happens like that and nobody can see the real damage and what it had done to him personally, then nobody would know. Sometimes you have to have something brutal like that to happen to get people to open their eyes and realize really how horrible it is. The reason I think she said she didn't have a minute to hate was because she knew she had to do something about it. She wasn't just going to sit there hating everyone, she was going to take what had happened and use it to make people more aware. This is what I think most colored people should have done. Take something bad and use it to do something about it.

Proposals

For my local history project I am planning to video tape my dad and ask him questions about flight and how things were when he was younger.

For my research group project with Jen, Nathan, and Leigh we are planning to pt out a survey for kids to take saying their favorite teacher and why. Then we are going to take the top 2 favorite teachers for each grade and then video tape them ten minutes each so we can see their teaching technique and how they are affective.
